SVM is excited to announce our 2019 Charity beer mission. Over the course of the year, we will be donating malt to 12 brewers for charity brews.

2018 was a pivotal year for Skagit Valley Malting, not only was it a banner year for sales but we also set forth ambitious long-term goals that will fuel future expansion.

A maritime climate is a region that is heavily influenced by the surrounding ocean and results in small seasonal changes and high levels of moisture in the atmosphere. This result is a climate that is moderated by ocean water, meaning cool summers and mild winters

Barley is primarily grown for two reasons, the first, as a feed crop and the second, for malting. However, in the Skagit Valley, there is a third and arguably more important reason, as a rotation crop.

Skagit Valley Malting is excited to announce we will be participating in the RMI Heirloom Malting Brewing Award 2018 in Nuremberg, Germany.

During the next several weeks 4 million pounds of grain, five different barley varieties and three wheat varieties, will pass through the Skagit Valley Malting granary and into our silos.

2018 has been a big year for Skagit Valley Malting, we are building two more 10 ton Single Vessel Malting Machines, we have added two new 400 ton silos to our grain storage, and we have installed an automated packing line to greatly speed that process up.

Another exciting week at Skagit Valley Malting! We just completed building two more silos at our grainery, adding 800 more tons to our total storage capacity. We now have four 850 ton silos and two 400 ton silos for a total capacity of 8.4 million pounds of barley.
